The Ventus Trio showcases the talents of Casper College’s Joshua Mietz, Clarinet, Christine Dunbar, Cello, and Scott Schwab, Piano. The concert will feature the Brahms A Minor trio for Cello, Clarinet, and Piano.
Joshua Mietz is the woodwind instructor at Casper College and Executive Director of the Kinser Jazz Festival and is an arranger of many works for clarinet choir. Dr Mietz studied with Diane Barger, Daniel Silver, Bil Jackson, and Phillip Aaholm, and studied conducting with Carolyn Barber and Allan McMurray. Prior to his work at Casper College, Joshua was Instructor of Clarinet at Fort Lewis and Instructor of Clarinet and Saxophone at Fort Lewis and San Juan colleges.
Christine Dunbar has served as Principal Cellist of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra since 2003 and performs with the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra as well as in numerous solo and chamber ensembles throughout the region. She studied with Steve Gram and Barbara Thiem and has performed in master classes with the Emerson String Quartet, David Finckel, Helga Winold, and Dennis Parker.
Scott Schwab is in his first year as instructor of piano at Casper College, Studied at the University of Colorado-Boulder and the Lamont School of Music. He has performed at the Chautaqua and Brevard Music Festivals and performed in Master Classes with Jeremy Denk, Rebecca Penneys, Jerome Rose, and more.
